Faderate property?

OK, so call me dumb if you already knew about this. But, I was playing around with the component file for the Flash UI Component Set 1 and realized that there is a property called “faderate” that can be set using FStyleProperty or the setStyleProperty method. Here is a little demo of it in action:

Just a little fun property I thought a few of you might find interesting.

  3. Have you tried popUpFade as well. It controls the fade rate of the listbox that drops down frop a combobox component. Both are really neat properties, wonder why they were not documented…

  4. Yeah, I noticed that one too! It seems that if you had many components on the same stage, it might really cause a performance hit? Who knows? :)

  5. The default fade style doesn’t look the greatest with the default colors for the components (IMO), but with the right colors it can work very well.

    I’ve typically just gone in and changed the fade to a standard easing instead and found that it looks better with more color schemes. IE:
    newFade = (targetFade – currentFade) * .25;
